Exciting Giveaways and Fun Activities Await Kids at Michigan Tech Athletics Event

This Saturday, families in Houghton can look forward to an exciting day of sports and treats. Michigan Tech Athletics has partnered with local businesses to offer free tickets and hot dogs for children attending the basketball and hockey games. Marketplace Foods will distribute 500 youth tickets for the events on a first-come, first-served basis starting Tuesday afternoon. Additionally, Vollwerth’s is providing free hot dogs to the first few hundred young attendees. The event aims to create a memorable experience for kids and promote community engagement.

Kids Day Ticket Distribution Begins This Week

Families have the opportunity to secure free tickets for the upcoming Kids Day event this week. Starting Tuesday afternoon, Marketplace Foods will begin distributing tickets for the basketball and hockey games scheduled for Saturday. Each family can obtain up to five tickets, ensuring more children can enjoy the day's activities. The distribution process is designed to be quick and efficient, allowing everyone a fair chance to participate.

The ticket giveaway will take place at Marketplace Foods beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Families are encouraged to arrive early to ensure they receive their tickets. For the hockey game, special vouchers will be provided, which can be exchanged for specific seats at the Student Development Complex Central Ticket Office throughout the week. This arrangement ensures that families can choose their preferred seating arrangements before the big day. The event organizers emphasize the importance of using the tickets received to maximize attendance and enjoyment for all participants.

A Day Filled with Sports and Delicious Treats

Saturday promises to be an action-packed day for children attending the doubleheader basketball games and the evening hockey match. In addition to thrilling sports events, there will be complimentary hot dogs provided by Vollwerth’s, adding a delicious twist to the festivities. This collaboration between Michigan Tech Athletics, local businesses, and concessions aims to create a memorable experience for young fans.

The first 100 youth attendees at the basketball games and the first 400 at the hockey game will receive free hot dogs, courtesy of Vollwerth’s. Coupons for these treats will be distributed as children enter the venues, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all. The event organizers encourage families to make full use of the tickets they receive, enhancing the overall atmosphere and participation. By fostering community spirit and offering engaging activities, the event aims to bring together families and young sports enthusiasts for a day of fun and excitement.
