Cure 4 The Kids Foundation’s “Happy Xmas (Cancer’s Over)” Music Video Wins Pacific Southwest EMMY® Award

Cure 4 The Kids Foundation's Holiday Single Wins EMMY for Outstanding Musical Composition

Mitch Koulouris, the director of social media for Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, has been recognized for his exceptional work on the holiday-themed single "Happy Xmas (Cancer's Over)." The track, which featured Cure 4 The Kids Foundation patients, celebrities, and well-known recording artists, has been awarded the 2024 EMMY® for Outstanding Musical Composition & Arrangement by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Pacific Southwest Chapter.

Bringing Joy and Hope Through Music

A Heartfelt Collaboration for a Worthy Cause

The "Happy Xmas (Cancer's Over)" single was part of the Christmas 4 The Kids holiday album, a 22-track compilation that Koulouris spearheaded. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the album's sales and streaming continue to benefit the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, Southern Nevada's only pediatric cancer and rare disease treatment center. This collaborative effort brought together a diverse group of artists, including American Idol Casting Producer and season 11 contestant Kyle Khou and Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter, who delivered a dynamic and impassioned vocal performance duet.

Shining a Spotlight on Cure 4 The Kids Foundation

Koulouris, who has a long history in the music industry, expressed his gratitude for the prestigious EMMY® award, stating, "I'm honored and humbled to receive such a prestigious award for this project. More importantly, this EMMY® win helps shine a bright light on the important, life-saving work by Cure 4 The Kids Foundation for the children of Nevada." The recognition not only celebrates Koulouris' artistic contribution but also amplifies the vital mission of the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation.

A Collaborative Effort with a Lasting Impact

In addition to producing the digital album and single, Koulouris also directed the music video for "Happy Xmas (Cancer's Over)" at the state-of-the-art Vū Studios. The video featured Khou, Carter, Las Vegas celebrities and supporters, as well as patients and providers of the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. The track itself was recorded at the Electric Shop Recording Studios in Las Vegas, showcasing the collaborative nature of this project.

A Groundbreaking Achievement for Cure 4 The Kids Foundation

The EMMY® win marks a significant milestone for the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, as it is the first time the organization has been recognized with such a prestigious award. This achievement not only celebrates the artistic excellence of the "Happy Xmas (Cancer's Over)" single but also highlights the foundation's commitment to providing high-quality, research-focused medical treatment to children battling cancer and other life-threatening conditions.

Empowering Children and Families Through Specialized Care

Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, founded in Las Vegas in 2007, operates the only outpatient childhood cancer treatment center in Nevada. The organization is proudly accredited by The Joint Commission, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care. Through its Charity Care Program, Cure 4 The Kids Foundation provides high-quality treatment on a sliding-scale basis, ensuring that no patient is ever turned away for financial reasons. This commitment to accessible and specialized care has made a significant impact on the lives of children and families in the region.
