Wallure Home: Transforming Beauty Storage with Luxury Decor
There has long been a fascinating connection between fashion and interior design. Just as a shift in artistic medium and models serve similar aesthetic translation functions, those with an eye for sartorial subtleties often have a similar sensitivity to interior ambiances. Carly Cushnie's transition from award-winning fashion designer to Creative Direction in home design at Lulu & Georgia demonstrated how an aesthetic sensibility can seamlessly transfer from the body to the home.

Transforming Fashion and Beauty Storage with Elegant Furniture

How Fashion and Interior Design Overlap

The overlap between fashion and interior design is not a new phenomenon. It makes perfect sense that those who are attuned to the subtleties of fashion would also be sensitive to the ambiances of interior spaces. As seen with Carly Cushnie's work, an aesthetic sensibility can flow effortlessly from one realm to the other. This connection allows for a unique perspective when it comes to designing and decorating homes. It brings a sense of style and artistry that can enhance the overall aesthetic of a space.

The Challenge of Storing Fashion and Beauty Collections

While the love of style and beauty leads to expansive wardrobes and beauty stashes, it poses a challenge when it comes to curating one's space. Storing these collections is far from straightforward, even though it would be satisfying to live in a serene, minimalist environment.Organizational solutions can be found through purchases from places like Amazon or The Container Store, but the luxury home decor sector often lacks pre-existing storage solutions specifically for shoes, cosmetics, and similar possessions.

Wallure Home: A Solution for Fashion and Beauty Enthusiasts

Alex Shamis faced this "niche" stressor as a new homeowner and was inspired to create Wallure Home. Using her experience from working at her father's hotel manufacturing business, she set out to create a line of high-end furniture that serves as functional decor for fashion and beauty aficionados.True to her personal aesthetic, the collection features trend-right neutrals, satin brass finishes, and quartz and marble touches. With natural oak and calacatta marble countertops, the pieces come with discreet features like custom wooden inserts, bag hooks, hidden electrical plugs, and even a holder for your blow dryer.

The Bella Beauty Cabinet

Naming beauty and skincare as "obsessions" of hers, Shamis began with The Bella Beauty Cabinet, priced at 0. She is passionate about beauty practices as a form of self-care and actively keeps up with trends. The design of The Bella considered aspects such as whether one prefers to sit or stand while performing beauty rituals and space limitations. The removable, wooden inserts allow for easy customization and organization of beauty products.Having all her beauty products organized in one place transformed her routine. Her top organizing tip is to categorize, which helps reduce clutter and makes it easy to find what you need.

The Scarpa Shoe Console

The Scarpa Shoe Console, priced at ,400, was born out of Shamis' desire to elegantly store and showcase her shoe collection. A self-described believer in having a large shoe collection, she worked in the fashion industry before entering furniture manufacturing. With a handbag hook on the side and a lined top shelf with a concealed electrical socket, The Scarpa appeals to fashionistas looking for elevated storage for their shoes and accessories. It can also be adapted for use in an office or personal gym.

Shamis' Inspirations and Future Plans

Shamis is constantly amazed by the talent in the interior design world and names Kelly Wearstler and Athena Calderone as personal muses.Although still a new company, a future expansion into the lifestyle category seems natural. She believes in the importance of being intentional in co-creating life and practices like vision boarding, journaling, and reciting affirmations. With exciting new launches on the horizon, it will be interesting to see what Shamis and Wallure Home manifest next.
